About the Position

The Linesman position focuses on executing operational projects on the non-energised electrical distribution network. The role requires adherence to set project targets for time, cost, resources, and quality, while complying with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, 1993 (Act 85 of 1993).

Key Responsibilities

  • Use resources optimally to ensure cost-effectiveness and meet project deadlines
  • Construct electrical networks to support effective service delivery
  • Maintain existing electrical networks to ensure network stability
  • Comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, 1993 (Act 85 of 1993)
  • Execute duties on a rotational basis across operational teams to enhance multi-skilling

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 10 qualification
  • Completed Linesman course and cable course
  • At least six months’ relevant experience in local authority electrical networks
  • Valid Code C1 driving licence with a valid PrDP
  • Physical fitness and good health
  • Ability to perform physically demanding operational and maintenance work
  • Willingness to work shifts, standby, and overtime
  • Willingness to be placed anywhere in Tshwane as required
  • Successful completion of a criminal record check, including fingerprinting at own cost
